On March 9th and 10th students from the retailing class sponsored and event for Malouf’s department store to promote their Vineyard Vines line. One team worked with associates from Malouf’s to promote the event in Greek Circle and then hosted them the next night for hors d’oeurves, games and prizes in the store. {view images}

Texas Tech RHIM Celebrates 25 Years with Reunion

Texas Tech University’s Restaurant Hotel and Institutional Management program will host its 25-year reunion Oct. 24-25 (Friday and Saturday).

The program began in 1983 with 15 students and now includes more than 475 undergraduate students and 50 graduate students. {read more}

Community Engagement

Dr. Ben Goh’s community engagement class recently organized a Charity Bowl at South Plains Bowling Lanes on March 3, 2008. About 150 students and RHIM faculty members attended the event. The students and faculty had a great time bowling. {view images}

College of Human Sciences Students Inducted Into Phi Beta Kappa

Two Human Sciences undergraduate students were elected to the Texas Tech Phi Beta Kappa chapter last week in a ceremony in the Allen Theatre on campus. Though Phi Beta Kappa is an organization in the liberal arts and sciences, students from Human Sciences are eligible if they have substantial course work in the Arts & Sciences. {read more}

Fashion Camp 2008

The Texas Tech University College of Human Sciences is hosting its first ever sessions of fashion camp on campus.

The first session began Monday (June 16) and continues through Friday (June 20); the second session is scheduled for June 23-June 27. {read more}

2008 Haven Dog Costume Contest

To raise awareness and funds for the Haven Animal Shelter, a team from RTL 3360 reailing class sponsored a dog costume contest. The event was held on October 26 at the Science Spectrum. The students promoted and coordinated the event. United Supermarkets donated refreshments and Petsmart donated prizes. Many dogs modeled and many people attended. The Michael Crabtree and the fireman costumes were the winners. {view images}
