Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition Lab
About the Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition Lab
Research in our lab is focused on understanding the role of nutritional factors in regulating metabolic activity. Some of the methods we employ in mouse models are high fat diet induced obesity, exercise (both chronic and acute), or gene knockout/overexpression to study nutrient mediated control of fatty acid oxidation, glucose uptake, and insulin signaling. Our lab also uses molecular and cellular biology methods to study the regulation of metabolic biochemistry in cell culture models.
