Shaikh Mizanoor Rahman, Ph.D.

Dr. Rahman is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Nutritional Science, Texas Tech University. He received his doctoral degree in Nutritional Biochemistry from Kagoshima University, Japan. He then moved to the USA and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Wisconsin Madison and University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (now University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine). He also worked as a Research Instructor at the department of Pediatrics, University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine before joining Nutritional Science Department at Texas Tech University. Rahman has published 23 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, Hepatology, Journal of Biological Chemistry and Journal of Lipid Research. His research has been funded by the American Heart Association. He is an active reviewer of the American Journal of Physiology (Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology), Molecular Nutrition and Food Research, Hormone and Metabolic Research and Journal of Cardiovascular Disease Research.
