Skyviews Relocation
Excitement abounds as we anticipate the move of Skyviews to the club level of the new ATT Jones Stadium East Side Expansion. Skyviews of Texas Tech is a unique combination of business and education. Skyviews is a largely self-supporting restaurant open to the public, and at the same time, it is a classroom housing over 150 students a week.
Skyviews began in 1989 when the site of the RHIM food labs was sold, leaving the program abruptly without a home. Texas Tech leased vacant restaurant space on the top floor of a nearby bank building, and Skyviews was born. The new facility was not designed for an educational facility, but the RHIM program made do.
Now it is time for a new place, one designed just for the program’s needs. The university is expanding to the ATT Jones Stadium with a new addition on the east side to match the west side. Skyviews will move to the new addition. The dining room will be on the club level with a wall of glass overlooking the football field and the new Overton area.
