Become a Student Counselor!
What to Expect:
Financial Planning Academy Student Counselors will serve in facilitating the Financial Planning Academy summer camp alongside the Academy faculty and staff. Their goal will be to encourage campers in their pursuit of financial planning knowledge, aid in students' ability to think critically and solve problems, and represent Texas Tech University as a whole. Academy Student Counselors will help in the classrooms, camper project team meetings, and during social events.
How many counselors will be hired?
Financial Planning Academy is seeking 10-12 full-time student counselors and 2 part-time student counselors. All counselors will have an assigned work schedule and work closely with the Financial Planning Academy campers, faculty, and staff.
What is the pay rate?
Financial Planning Academy student counselors will be paid according to their position. In addition to being paid, all full-time student counselors will have all meals, lodging, and camp materials supplied to them. Any part-time student counselors will have meals and camp materials covered.
What are the times I need to be available?
If selected as a Financial Planning Academy student counselor, you will be required to attend an orientation and training session with the Academy faculty and staff before the Academy starts. In addition, counselors will be required to complete one of the trainings required for employees of summer camps. Student counselors must be available for the full week.
