Undergraduate Application Form
The College of Human Sciences at Texas Tech University offers undergraduate and graduate scholarships of varied amounts for outstanding students. Applicants will be considered for all awards for which they qualify at the time of review.
Applications must be submitted on or before February 1. Announcements will be made in April.
SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS
Recipients are selected by the College of Human Sciences Scholarship Committee. Evaluation is based on the criteria for each award. Although criteria vary, most include: scholarship excellence, achievement in academic and non-academic areas, leadership, character, seriousness of purpose and/or need. Time and distance do not usually permit personal interviews, thus the Scholarship Committee must depend on information provided on the application form and letter. Failure to provide all information requested could result in disqualification of the application. Please submit carefully prepared application materials. Designation of major is important as many of the scholarship donors have restricted the scholarship to specific majors.

For all applicants, please indicate names, sources, and amounts of scholarships that have already been awarded to you for college study. Some scholarships do not allow a student to hold other awards above a specific amount. Grants and loans administered by the Office of Financial Aid for Students based on need and monetary stipends paid for services are excluded. We encourage you to work with the financial aid office. You may be able to coordinate a financial aid/scholarship package that meets your financial needs. Out-of-state students: If you receive scholarships from Texas Tech which total at least $1,000 for the academic year, your out-of-state tuition will be waived. It is your responsibility to notify the financial aid office if your Texas Tech scholarships total $1,000 or more.
All students receiving scholarships are required to: (1) enroll in a major offered by the College of Human Sciences, (2) satisfactorily complete a full course load [12 hours for undergraduates or 9 hours for graduate students] not including pass/fail and credit by examination courses, (3) meet specified GPA each semester, and (4) complete a thank you letter to the scholarship donor each semester.
Scholarships are awarded only to students who have officially applied to Texas Tech University. Unless the scholarship award is for multiple years, students are required to resubmit scholarship applications during the spring semester to be eligible for renewal of their scholarship.
