Student Services
Message from the Director
Thank you for visiting our page. The Student Services office is your hub for information and programs in the College of Human Sciences and across campus. Our goal is to serve as your one stop shop so that you can proceed through college effectively. Our Student Services office is constantly growing and changing to meet the ever-growing needs of today's college student. There is one service we provide before you even enroll at Tech. We have a lively and fun group of recruiters who promote the college and provide information and tours for any prospective student.
Our other primary service is through academic advising. You are more than an R number in the College of Human Sciences. Our advisors all work their hardest to ensure that you stay on the right path to graduation.
We also offer a variety of other services including mediation for students who have issues with faculty or staff within the college or elsewhere and absence notifications sent to faculty on behalf of students who have unexpected illnesses or emergencies. We are in the middle of developing a program for students with lower GPAs to ensure their retention and success at Texas Tech.
We also offer a variety of career services both in our office and in conjunction with University Career Services. The College of Human Sciences is also in the midst of a big push for our students to study abroad and we will be aggressively promoting programs of study to our students.
I have been with the College of Human Sciences since September 2010 and worked in Student Affairs at TTU for seven years prior to that (in Student Disability Services as an academic counselor). My desire is to see each and every one of you succeed. I maintain an open door policy. If you ever need anything at all, do not hesitate to send me an email (Jeffrey.taylor@ttu.edu) or stop by my office in 154 Human Sciences to see me. Parents, if you would like to meet about anything when you are in town visiting, I would be more than happy to do so.
I hope that your time here at TTU is profitable and that we can play a role in your success.
Guns up!
- Jeffrey Taylor

ROAD Maps
Each section of the R.O.A.D. Map has a specific purpose and potential area of growth for our students. It is our hope that as you progress in your studies, you will have an increasingly diverse range of experiences that will help your resume stand apart in the job market. We want our students to begin with the end in mind and focus on how what you do now can help you in the future. Here is what each section of the Map represents:
