I want to welcome you to the Texas Tech University College of Human Sciences. The Student Services Office is located on the first floor of the Human Sciences building in room 154. The Academic Advising Office is right down the hall in room 159. You are encouraged to take advantage of all of the services we offer. If you are a future, new, or returning student and need help navigating through our large university system, we are here for you. Whether you need help finding a major, have a question about scholarships, or if you don’t know where to find help for a challenging class, we hope that you will visit our office.

We have a lively group of Student Ambassadors that help welcome new and future students to the College. They offer college tours, serve on student panels, help with community engagement events, and discuss academic programs with families.

One of our primary services is academic advising. You are more than a number in the College of Human Sciences. Our advisors work diligently to ensure that you graduate on time. In addition to welcoming and advising new students we offer a number of other services including, referrals to campus resources, mediation between students and faculty, and absence notifications in the event of unexpected illnesses or emergencies.

This has been a transformative year for recruitment, engagement, and retention. Scholarships have been restructured so that qualified new students can be assured financial support that is renewable each year for qualifying students. Upcoming leaders in Human Sciences’ student organizations were sent to leadership conferences across the United States. Increased support for both transfer students and students with pre-professional health career designations has been implemented.

In the College of Human Sciences our mission is to improve and enhance the human condition. All of our academic programs serve individuals and families in an important way. It is a great honor to support you in achieving your goals here at Texas Tech University, and we are excited to hear about the impactful work you will be doing after graduation. Please take advantage of the services offered by our office. We are here to help.
