Work Travel Family
Did you know that...
- Nearly 1 in 3 American workers travel extensively for their jobs?
- Work-life balance is an important component in finding satisfaction and meaning on the job and in personal relationships?
- For employers, work-life balance is vital to effective recruitment and retention?
Professor Anisa M. Zvonkovic, Principal Investigator
A 4 year federal grant funded by the National Institutes of Health.
This project seeks to explore the experience of individuals who work in a cross-section of occupations which require them to travel. Furthermore, this study is unique in that it also looks at how the non traveling spouses and other family members are affected by the rhythms of regular work travel. For example:
- How does work-related travel influence the tempo of routines and relationships at home?
- How does work travel impact the individual’s health, well-being, and family relationships?
- Which organizational practices are the most effective at supporting traveling employees and promoting work-life balance?
