Texas Tech Global Guides Program

Global Guides logo

Last year, the Office of International Affairs started a new recruiting program for international students called Texas Tech Global Guides. The program connects current Texas Tech international students with prospective international students to promote, share, and support their efforts to attend the university. Global Guides also provide assistance with student life and retention activities through the Office of International Student Life.

Beth Mora and Ximena Fuentes are the advisors for the group. Beth states “Each Global Guide went through an interview process in order to be a part of the program. They have committed to serve for a year in this role and have been assigned a cohort of students who have applied and are considering attending Texas Tech. The Global Guides are mentoring these students via email and social media, sharing their own experiences at Texas Tech. The Guides will be a helper and friend to the international students when they arrive at Texas Tech this fall and will also help them acclimate to their new culture.”
