Texas Tech University is ranked in the Top 25 U.S. institutions producing the graduates most sought after by government and corporate employers, according to the Wall Street Journal. Texas Tech University is listed in Kiplinger Personal Finance's "25 Best College Values Under $30,000/Year" as part of the magazine's annual Best Values in Public Colleges feature. Texas Tech came in at No. 20, and is the only Texas school on the list. It was recently ranked as a top school for return on investment, coming in at #28. Further, it was recently recognized for the earning potential of its graduates, with three degree programs in the top 20.
Many of the undergraduate degree programs are regionally and nationally ranked. Texas Tech University's Apparel Design & Manufacturing (ADM) program, housed under the College of Human Sciences, was named among the top fashion schools in the southwest by Fashion-Schools.org. The Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering is ranked #25 by the Wall Street Journal in its Top Recruiter Picks. The Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management (RHIM) degree program has received accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Management and is ranked among the Top 25 in the U.S. Smart Money magazine recognized Texas Tech's Personal Financial Planning program as the most extensive in the nation. Texas Tech University's Rawls College of Business is ranked No. 83 in the nation by Bloomberg Businessweek's "Best Undergraduate Business Schools 2014."
Texas Tech graduates are some of the most financially successful among alumni of large, public universities. Texas Tech graduates were ranked first in Household Net Worth as well as the percentage of households whose net worth exceeds $1 million, according to the Alumni Factor's College Guidebook rankings.
The Spanish Renaissance style campus has been awarded the Grand Award for excellence in grounds-keeping, and has been noted for possessing a public art collection among the ten best in the United States. The City of Lubbock is in the Top 20 Best College Destinations for small, metro areas of 250,000 to 1 million inhabitants.
