First-Time Students:

You are considered a first-time student (also referred to as new student or freshman student) if:

  • You are a citizen of any country other than the U.S.
  • You are not in the U.S. as permanent resident.
  • You have earned no more than the equivalent of 12 credit hours of college-level credit after graduation from high school (higher secondary).

Transfer Students:

You are considered a transfer student if:

  • You are a citizen of any country other than the U.S.
  • You are not in the U.S. as a permanent resident.
  • You have earned the equivalent of 12 or more credit hours of college-level credit from an accredited U.S. college or university or a recognized post-secondary level institution located outside of the U.S. after graduation from high.

Graduate Students:

  • Students who have already earned a Bachelor's degree and wish to continue their education at the Master's or Doctoral level should apply for admission through the Office of Graduate Admissions.
