On Friday, November 14th, Waters Elementary, in partnership with
K-12 Global Education Outreach, hosted a Veteran's Day Celebration. Over 1000 students, teachers, and family members participated in the celebration which is in its fourth year. Social Studies teacher Candace Tickle orchestrated a variety of activities for teachers and students including classroom visits from WWII veterans, choir performances, a veterans' memorial wall honoring Waters Elementary family members, bagpipe performances by TTU's Patrick McLaurin, a timeline displaying artifacts and information from WWI through the War in Iraq, and craft activities.
