Apply for a Passport

Passports are required for all students studying abroad. Processing time for passports is approximately 4 - 6 weeks. Expedited service for an additional fee returns your passport in 2 - 3 weeks. The Texas Tech passport application acceptance office, located in the International Cultural Center, can process your paperwork and take your photos.

Passport requirements include:

• Proof of Citizenship - either a certified copy of your birth certificate (no photocopies accepted), naturalization papers, or a previous passport
• Photo ID - driver's license preferred
• 1 passport photo
• Completed application - pick up at the ICC or download from the State Dept website.

Passport fees are:

• Passport - $110
• Expedited service -additional $60
• Processing fee - $35
• Photos - $12

Passport and expediting fees must be paid with check or money order. Processing fee and photos may be paid with cash, check or money order separate from the passport fee. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.

Passport office hours are:

Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. *Closed from 1:00-2:00 for lunch.
Friday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
