Economic Policy and Agribusiness in China

Join us in this Maymester Study Abroad program to visit the second largest economy of the world and the largest and fastest growing market for the US agricultural exports. The program is aimed to provide students interested in economic policy and international business with an opportunity to reflect on the role of government and markets in economic development, experience firsthand the interconnected trade ties between US and China, and explore China's market potential for US products and services. The program will include visits to Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, and Xi'an. We will visit state-and privately-owned companies involved in agriculture, food, finance, and manufacturing. You will have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with students of Chinese universities. Cultural and tourist destinations include Beijing's Hutong, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace, Shanghai's financial street, Xi'an's Terra Cotta Warriors, and the Great Wall of China.
