Workshops & Seminars

Now that you are back in Lubbock, you can take advantage of a multitude of events that are held exclusively for study abroad alumni.

Welcome Back Event

The Study Abroad Office hosts a Welcome Back Event every semester for students who studied abroad in the previous terms. We’ll have free pizza, free t-shirts, and discuss challenges for returned students as well as different to get involved and apply your study abroad experience.

Marketing Your Study Abroad Experience Workshop

Each semester, TTU Study Abroad teams up with the TTU Career Center to help study abroad alumni learn how to talk about international experiences with potential employers. How can study abroad help your student land a job? We have advice for strengthening resumes and interview skills.

International Opportunities Seminar

Thinking about working and living abroad after college? We’ll have a panel of representatives from the State Department, the Fulbright Program, the Peace Corps, folks who taught English as a Second Language while living overseas, and more. Bring your questions and your appetites – milk and cookies will be served!

Attend A Conference

Lessons From Abroad is a conference that launched in 2008, during which more than 100 study abroad alumni spent the day in guided conversation with their peers and international educators from Southern California. Topics included what it means to be a returnee and how study abroad has shifted students’ future aspirations. By 2010, Lessons From Abroad had become a statewide force amongst education abroad professionals and the students for whom the conference served. Today, almost 50 conferences run across the U.S. and more than 3,000 students have participated.
