The TTU IT Division and TOSM are working towards improving the www.depts.ttu.edu website infrastructure to increase the robustness and scalability of this critical platform. On Wednesday, February 20, 2013, a new infrastructure was put into production. The upgrade will shorten our typical maintenance windows for the departmental websites, as well as provide the ability to scale www.depts.ttu.edu to meet future needs. As part of this change, the content publication process changed slightly for departmental websites.
Following the cutover, Web authors will use https://publish.depts.ttu.edu as the new WebDAV publishing point, replacing https://www.depts.ttu.edu. Please note that this only affects authors that publish content using WebDAV. Authors that publish content using file sharing (i.e. \\depts.tosm.ttu.edu\sites) or LCMS will not be affected by this change. Also, after the upgrade, all content changes to www.depts.ttu.edu will experience a small delay, as updated content is synchronized with the production servers. This delay is usually only a few seconds, but in certain cases it may be up to a 5 minute delay. The new publication point for authors will not change how websites are viewed or accessed over the web. The www.depts.ttu.edu URL and any redirects will continue to work as they do now.
