TTUnet WPA2 Wireless Upgrade
As announced previously, TTU is currently upgrading the wireless network on campus. The initial phase of this update, upgrading the 658 wireless radios on campus, was completed on May 20, 2009. The next phase of the upgrade is transitioning our wireless encryption/security protocol from WEP to WPA2/AES, which has already begun. This upgrade of protocol, in conjunction with the recent hardware updates, will provide a significant improvement to our wireless network in terms of both security and reliability.
At this time, you may connect to the wireless network using either the old or new protocols. Beginning Tuesday, June 16, however, you must connect using the new protocol exclusively. These settings are easily changed, and should take no more than 2-3 minutes to complete. The TTU IT Division strongly recommends that you change to the new protocol as soon as possible.
