Avoid account lockouts when changing your eRaider password & using iOS devices
No One at Texas Tech University or from Anywhere Else Should Ask For Your Password
Following the steps below will prevent a saved password on your iOS device from locking your TTU domain account after changing your eRaider password.
NOTE: If you have not already done so, do not change your eRaider password at https://eraider.ttu.edu at this time. The instructions below will indicate at what point to do so.
Step 1:
Open the Settings application.

Step 2:
Tap Wi-Fi.

Step 3:
If Wi-Fi is turned off, tap the switch to enable it.

Step 4:
Tap the blue arrow next to "TTUnet".

Step 5:
Tap Forget this Network.

Step 6:
Tap Forget.

Step 7:
Tap the Wi-Fi Networks button and then the Settings button to return to the main Settings screen.

Step 8:
Tap the switch next to Airplane Mode to turn it to the "ON" setting. Turning on Airplane Mode prevents your device from connecting to the internet and repeatedly checking your TechMail account which will lock you out.

Step 9:
If you have not yet changed your eRaider password at eRaider Account Manager, use a device other than your iOS-based handheld to sign in at https://eraider.ttu.edu and change your password as you normally would.
Step 10:
In the Settings app on your iOS device, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Step 11:
Tap the option for your TechMail account.

Step 12:
Tap the Account button to access your personal account settings.

Step 13:
Tap the Password field. Backspace the previous password, and type your new eRaider password.

Step 14:
Tap Done.

Step 15:
Because Airplane Mode is enabled, you will get a message that the information could not be verified. This is normal. Tab OK on the message.
Step 16:
Tap the Done button again.

Step 17:
A message will indicate that the account may not be able to send or receive emails This message is expected, although misleading. Proceed by tapping the Save button.

Step 18:
Tap the Mail button and then the Settings button to return to the main Settings screen.

Step 19:
Tap the switch next to Airplane Mode to turn it to the "OFF" setting. Turning off Airplane Mode allows your device to connect to the internet and check your TechMail account.

Your TTU domain account will not be locked out, and your TechMail password has been updated on your iOS device. If you would like to join the TTUnet wireless network again on your device, you must follow the connection instructions to re-connect to that network.
If you use TTUnet VPN on your device, you must go into the settings for that account and update the settings with the new password. Click here for instructions to Update your VPN Password on your iOS Device.
