Modify an Existing VPN Connection
To modify an existing PPTP VPN connection for IPsec/L2TP, please following the instructions below:
Windows XP:
STEP 1: Go to Start -> Control Panel.
STEP 2: Double-click Network Connections.
STEP 3: Right-click your existing PPTP VPN connection, then click Properties.
STEP 4: Click the Networking tab. Set the Type of VPN server to L2TP IPSec VPN.
STEP 5: Click the Security tab. Verify the following, then click IPSec Settings.
- Typical (recommended settings)
- Require secured password.
- Ensure Automatically use my Windows logon name and password is unchecked.
- Check Require data encryption.
STEP 6: Check Use pre-shared key for authentication. Enter the following key: TTUnetVPN. Click OK on all preceding windows.
NOTE: The key is case sensitive.
