How to Disable Active Scripting
If there is no need for Active Scripting, it is easy to disable. There are two places one can go in order to disable it.
- Open Control Panel and select the Internet Options icon, or
- In Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu and choose Internet Options....
Once the Internet Properties window is opened, click on the Security tab. This will produce a window similar to that presented by Figure 1 below.

Select the Internet Web content zone in Figure 1 above and then click the Custom Level... button. A Security Settings window will appear, similar in appearance to Figure 2 below.

In the Security Settings window, scroll downward until the Scripting heading is found. Under the Active scripting section, select the Disable option and then click the OK button. A warning will appear (Figure 3) verifying that changes to the security settings were actually desired. Click Yes to close the Warning! box.

Active Scripting is now disabled.
