Configure an Outlook Profile for Outlook Anywhere
Outlook Anywhere allows you to access your TechMail using Outlook 2007 off-campus without a VPN connection.
If you already have a VPN connection at your home, simply repair your profile and Outlook should recognize your new settings. You will no longer need to use a VPN connection to access your TechMail using Outlook 2007.
STEP 1: With Outlook open, click Tools -> Account Settings.
STEP 2: Click your Exchange account, then click Repair.
STEP 3: Outlook will connect to the Exchange servers and update you settings to allow for Outlook Anywhere.
STEP 4: Click Finish.
To verify Outlook Anywhere has been setup:
STEP 1: Click Tools -> Account Settings.
STEP 2: Click your Exchange Account, then click Change.
STEP 3: Click More Settings.
STEP 4: Click the Connection tab, then verify Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP is checked. Click Exchange Proxy Settings.
STEP 5: Verify the following settings, then click OK on the preceding boxes.
- Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange: mail.ttu.edu
- Verify Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate is checked. The proxy server should say: msstd:mail.ttu.edu
- Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange: Basic Authentication
