Importing files in Microsoft Outlook 2003

To Illustrated Instructions

Step 1:  To start the import process, go to the File menu and select Import and Export.

Step 2:  This will start the Import and Export Wizard.  Select Import from another program or file and then click on the Next > button.

Step 3:  Now select Personal Folder File (.pst) and then click the Next > button.

Step 4:  You will now need to locate the file that you want to import.  Click the Browse button to search for the file to be imported.

Step 5:  You should now find the file that you would like to import.  Whenever the file to be imported has been located, then click the Open button.

Step 6:  You will now be returned to the Import and Export Wizard window.  Click on Next > button to continue.

Step 7:  You will now have the option to choose which folder from the Personal Folder you would like to import.  Select the folder that you would like to import.  If you want to include subfolders as well, make sure and check the box next to Include Subfolders

In this step, you can also specify the location to which you would like to import this information.  Either select the Import items into the current folder  if you want to import the items into the folder that you are currently in, or select Import items into the same folder in:  to select a different folder.  If you choose the second option, select the folder you would like to import into from the drop down box.

Now click on the Finish button to begin the import process.

Step 8:  When the Finish button is clicked, the import process begins.  Depending on the size of the imported file, the process can take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes.  A progress bar will be shown as the file is imported.  Once the import process is finished, you will be returned to Outlook.
