IT Help Central Walk-Up Services

On July 31, 2009, IT Help Central implemented a new service for our customers known as "Walk-up Services."  This service replaced our previous "Drop-off Services" and allows customers to learn safe computing practices first-hand in a one-on-one environment.  With the assistance of IT Help Central employees, customers can remove viruses/spyware from their computers, troubleshoot computer performance issues, and install TTU site-licensed software such as Microsoft Office or Symantec Endpoint Protection.  Other walk-up services, such as wireless setup and installation of software updates are still available to customers, as well.  Please note that due to this change in process, customers must remain in our offices throughout the diagnosing/troubleshooting process.

For customers who need drop-off services, the TTU IT Division recommends the Texas Technology Store, conveniently located on-campus in the Student Union Building.  The Texas Technology Store employs Dell and Apple-certified technicians who can assist you with a wide range of issues, including virus/spyware removal, hardware troubleshooting and data backup/restoration.  Also, as a strong partner with the TTU IT Division, the Texas Technology Store has lowered the price of several key services in order to better serve the TTU community.  You may contact the Texas Technology Store at (806) 744-2130 or view their Web site at http://www.texastechnologystore.com.

Please note that this change does not affect customers currently living in the residence halls.  Residence Hall Support may be requested by contacting IT Help Central at (806) 742-HELP [4357].
