IT Help Central Walk-Up Services
IT Help Central's Walk-up Services allows customers to learn safe computing practices first-hand in a one-on-one environment. With the assistance of IT Help Central employees, customers can remove viruses/spyware from their computers, troubleshoot computer performance issues, and install TTU site-licensed software such as Microsoft Office or Symantec Endpoint Protection. Other walk-up services, such as wireless setup and installation of software updates, are available to customers, as well. Please note that customers must remain in our offices throughout the diagnosing/troubleshooting process.
Please note that on-site support is available for customers currently living in the residence halls and may be more convenient than coming to Walk-up Services. A visit from Residence Hall Support may be requested by contacting IT Help Central at (806) 742-HELP [4357]. Our Helpdesk will attempt to assist you, and then forward the issue to Residence Hall Support if it cannot be solved at Helpdesk.
Our Location & Hours
Visit IT Help Central's Hours of Operation page to view our Walk-up Services hours. Walk-up Services is located in the same building as University Parking Services—the Administrative Support Center at 2903 4th Street. Our entrance is on the northwest corner of the building. A map is available at http://www.ttu.edu/campusmap/buildings/support.php. Please call before visiting Walk-up Services in order to ensure the best support experience.
Time Saving Tips
Before bringing your computer to IT Help Central's Walk-Up Service, please review the time saving tips below:
- Ensure you are able to sign in to your computer successfully.
- All operating system updates should be current. Please see instructions on the table below.
- Anti-virus software should be installed and updates current. Please see instructions on
the table below.
- NOTE: Symantec Endpoint Protection and Norton AntiVirus can be downloaded at https://eraider.ttu.edu.
- Call us at (806) 742-HELP [4357] prior to bringing in the computer in order to expedite the troubleshooting process.
