Connect to TTUnet Wireless with Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard)

Before beginning, make sure your computer has the latest updates from Apple by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of your menu bar.


STEP 1: If AirPort is turned on, click the AirPort icon in your menu bar and choose Turn AirPort Off.

STEP 2: Click the AirPort icon in your menu bar and choose Open Network Preferences.

STEP 3: Open the Location drop-down list. If you already have a location set up for TTU, click on it and skip to Step 4.

If you do not have a location set up for TTU, click Edit Locations.

Click the "plus sign" to add a new location.

Type TTU as the name of the location and click Done.

STEP 4: Click the AirPort option in the left-hand menu.

STEP 5: Uncheck Ask to join new networks.

STEP 6: Click the Advanced button.

STEP 7: If you do not have any TTUnet listings in your Preferred Networks, skip to Step 8. If you do have entries for TTUnet, click them one at a time and click the minus sign to remove them. Repeat until they are all removed.

STEP 8: Click the 802.1X tab.

STEP 9: Expand the User Profiles option. If you do not have any listings for TTUnet, skip to Step 10. If you do have TTUnet entries, click them one at a time and click the minus sign at the bottom to remove them.

STEP 10: Click OK.

STEP 11: Click Apply.

STEP 12: Click Advanced.

STEP 13: Click the "plus sign."

STEP 14: Type the following information and click Add:

STEP 15: Click OK.

STEP 16: Click Apply.

STEP 17: Click Turn AirPort On.

STEP 18: If you have never installed the TTUnet wireless certificate, you may receive a prompt to verify it. If so, click Show Certificate.

STEP 19: Check Always trust "8021x.ttu.edu". Click Continue.

STEP 20: Type the administrative credentials for your Mac OS and click OK to continue.

STEP 21: When prompted for 802.1X Authentication, type your eRaider username and eRaider password. Click OK.
