Amendment to the Communications Act of 1934

This amendment, Title V--Obscenity and Violence, passed in February of 1996 (also known as the Comunications Decency ACT--CDA), deals with obscene, harassing, and wrongful utilization of telecommunications facilities. For a complete text of Title V, check out one of the many sites on the World-Wide Web that have it posted. While you have probably heard that this law has been judged unconstitutional, it is still, at present, the law and will be so until such time it is officially repealed. It has continued to be used as a basis in many court cases, especially those involving ISPs.
