Misappropriation of LikenessIndividuals have the right to privacy that extends to their likeness, such as photos, videotapes, and audiotapes of themselves. Someone who uses another person's likeness--even personal information about them--"for commercial purposes" without that person's consent is liable to that person for damages or other relief. This includes the use of the likeness in e-mail for commercial purposes. |
