While living in the U.K., Jentry, Katie and Jacob Williams were able to experience the “blood moon” phenomenon along with us in the United States, even if it was 3:29 a.m. U.K. time and 9:29 p.m. U.S. CST. The Williams family has been a part of TTUISD since August of 2011, when they moved abroad due to work relocation, and has been able to enjoy traveling to and experiencing different countries while keeping up with their studies.

According to mother Jennifer Williams, TTUISD's flexible program gives her children the freedom to do their schoolwork at any time of day or anytime of the year.

“[The program] allows you to have extra family time while learning together,” Jennifer said. “It has made it easier for our family to stay on a U.S. curriculum and we like the flexibility to be able to travel.”

First-grader and youngest of the family Jacob, is an avid Star Wars fan whose current interests include Legos, Xbox and Minecraft. When asked what his favorite part about TTUISD was, Jacob responded that he enjoyed having his mom teach him and help him learn math. “It is my favorite,” Jacob said.

Fourteen-year-old Katie, who plans to pursue a law degree in the future, enjoys living in the U.K., and being able to travel while still keeping up with her schoolwork.

“I can create my own schedule to get my schoolwork done around all of my activities and travel,” Katie said. “I can work day or night.”

Katie enjoys her history classes, listening to music, and reading books. When not studying or traveling, Katie likes to roller skate, shop and hang out with friends.

Jentry, a TTUISD senior graduating this year, said she loves the freedom and flexibility attending TTUISD has given her.

“I can work on school at any time,” Jentry said. “It has been great because I can figure out what works best for me.”

In her free time, Jentry likes to write novels, short stories and poetry, and spend time with her friends. Jentry stated that living in the U.K. has been amazing and she's “been blessed with the ability to see the world.”

The Williams family has traveled to Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland since moving abroad.

“We feel we have become closer as a family,” Jennifer said. “Every person at TTUISD makes it so much easier to complete our work – TTUISD is part of our family.”

To students considering attending TTUISD, the Williams children say, “Do it; you won't regret it.”
