The diverse geography found in Texas affected the settlement and development of indigenous cultures. This program focuses on four tribes, their economies, traditions, and influence on modern Texas.  *Note:  K-7th grades only!

What is culture? This program explores the characteristics and qualities that create cultural landscapes. Open your students' minds by examining the traits by which culture is expressed.

♦ Ellis Island:

For more than six decades [1892-1954] this immigrant station processed hundreds of thousands of people into the United States. Travel back to the early 1900's and experience what it was like to come to America as an immigrant. *Note: 5th-12th grades.

Joe Foss- VIP [Veteran's Inspiring Patriotism]:

K-12 GEO and the Joe Foss Institute designed this program to bring veteran volunteer speakers to the classroom. Topics include civics, citizenship, leadership, patriotism, and heroism.
