A Premier The Language Learning Laboratory & Resource Center (LLL&RC) is a specialized learning center and library serving both students and faculty. The LLL&RC provides a wide variety of learning resources for all language students, and supports faculty and instructors with materials, equipment and technical support. It is one of the most robust multimedia learning centers within the TTU System. The central LLL&RC facility features the world's largest digital-hybrid ASC language lab console system. In addition, the student Practice Theatre is also home to the sophisticated, completely computerized digital learning environment, the ReLANpro. The facility is also investing in an ASL (American Sign Languages) lab, and supports the Psycholinguistcs Laboratory, under the charge of Dr. Bill VanPatten, Convener of Applied Linguistics/Second Language Studies in the Department of Classical & Modern Languages & Literatures. In addition, the LLL&RC equips, maintains and supports installed instructional equipment throughout the classrooms of the Foreign Languages Building. We also provide in-circulation equipment, such as "JamBox" CD players, TV-DVD or VCR combination players, mobile computer carts, and similar equipment, which can be withdrawn by all instructional personnel teaching in the building. SCOLA—See the World The Language Learning Laboratory & Resource Center is the hub provider of the dynamic SCOLA (Satellite Communications for Learning Association), which provides television programming from around the globe. The system is available for viewing in several locations in the Foreign Languages Building, and recording requests can be made by contacting the LLL&RC.
The Language Laboratory offers modern technology and advanced language learning software titles which are integrated into many language programs at TTU. The advanced, sophisticated design of these programs allows the learner to focus on specific skills, perfectly complimenting their in-class work. The implementation of these learning methods is part of the Department of Classical & Modern Languages notable curriculum redesign.
The Language Learning Laboratory & Resource Center provides free professional Tutoring and a free Writing Lab in Spanish. The Consultants are available at a variety times, and again—this is a completely free service. Other language tutors may be available, so please inquire at the Language Learning Laboratory's HelpDesk, or call 806.742.3151.
