John E. Krahmer
Admitted to practice in Iowa.
Prior to joining the faculty at Texas Tech in 1971, Professor Krahmer taught at the University of South Carolina School of Law. During his teaching career, Professor Krahmer has taught a variety of courses, with an emphasis on Contracts, Commercial Law, and Consumer Law. Because of this emphasis, he was designated by the Texas Association of Bank Counsel (TABC) as the Faculty Editor of The Texas Bank Lawyer, a monthly publication of the TABC, in 1985. He is also the Faculty Editor of The American Bank Lawyer, a similar publication that is available by subscription to attorneys in other states who are not members of the Texas Bar. Professor Krahmer is also the author of 12 Texas Practice: Methods of Practice in Commercial Law and Vols. 1 & 2 of Vernon's Texas Code Forms Annotated: Uniform Commercial Code Forms, publications of the West Publishing Division of the Thomson/Reuters company. Professor Krahmer has received the Texas Tech University President's Research Award and the President's Teaching Award. He was also the first member of the Law Faculty to receive the Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Teaching. The students at Texas Tech have also recognized Professor Krahmer's teaching ability by selecting him for teaching awards on seven different occasions. His expertise in the area of Commercial Law and Contracts make him a frequent speaker at continuing legal education conferences sponsored by various legal organizations. Professor Krahmer is a member of the Texas Tech University Teaching Academy, the American Bar Association and Iowa State Bar Association Uniform Commercial Code Committees.
