Digital Media Studio Policies

Failure to observe the Digital Media Studio (DMS) policies may result in suspension of privileges.

General Policies

  • The DMS is NOT a quiet study floor. You should take care in moving around the studios at all times.
  • To check out any items from the DMS, you must show your valid ID at the Service Desk.
  • Do NOT install software on the DMS computers. This includes software on disks or downloaded from the Internet.
  • You are NOT allowed to remove equipment from the DMS without permission. Failing to follow this rule, you will be subject to disciplinary action by the University, and the local police will be notified. 

Equipment Checkout Policies

  • Equipment is checked out on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not accepted.
  • You are responsible for returning all equipment in the condition in which it was checked out to you. Replacement cost may be charged to you if any damages.
  • Equipment checkout is NOT available during interim periods or school holidays.
  • Only one (1) camera OR projector may be borrowed at a time.
  • You may check out a projector screen AND tripod with a projector.
  • You may borrow one (1) of each of the following items with a digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera:  tripod, flash, external microphone, and extra lens.
  • You may borrow a tripod AND external microphone with a video camera.
  • You may borrow UP TO TWO (2) mounts AND a tripod with a GoPro HERO4 Black.
  • If you return the equipment late, a one-dollar-per-hour late fee will be charged to your Student Business Service account. The hourly fees will continue to be charged until you return the equipment.
  • After returning equipment, you must wait 24 hours before you are eligible to borrow equipment again.

Media & Equipment Checkout Privileges

All users may check out DVDs and Audio Books. TTU faculty, staff, and students may check out equipment.

Only faculty from the School of Music may check out up to 5 music CDs for 24 hours and renew them once. All other users have to use music CDs within the Library.
