Get Snappy: Photo Contest for Barnes & Noble Gift Cards

Sept. 6, 2013

Photo Contest

Calling all photogs, snappers, shutterbugs and photography enthusiasts alike! It's time to get snappy for the University Library's “Looking Forward, Looking Back” Photo Contest!

To enter:

  • Browse the online digital collection of La Ventana to find a picture that appeals to you.
  • Recreate it - pose for pose, frame for frame - snap some pictures and send us your best shot by Oct. 31, 2013.

We're looking for photo comparisons that show how Texas Tech has changed over the decades; for example, how does studying in the Library look today compared to 50 years ago?

Let your creativity fly!

We'll be posting the top three photos to our University Libraries Facebook page and conducting a vote for the best photo!

The Prizes:
Three Barnes & Noble gift cards will be given as prizes by the Thanksgiving break for the photos that receive the most votes in the following categories:

  • Then and Now, for photos showing how locations have changed over the years
  • Nostalgia, for recreating photos found in the yearbook
  • Overall, for best of show

Need equipment?
The Digital Media Studio on the second floor of the Library has cameras and other equipment available for checkout to assist with this project…and any others you may have.
