I'm a senior studying news-editorial journalism and fashion retail with a minor in fashion design. I have designed a curriculum for myself to include an education in journalism, as well as the fashion industry from the ground up in order to best prepare me to be a fashion writer, editor and critic. Upon graduation in May I plan to move back to San Francisco, where I had my internship, and look for jobs at magazines (preferably fashion or "lifestyle" magazines) as well as apply to area graduate programs. While my career will be at a fashion magazine, I am passionate about investigative journalism. I broke a story last semester about racial discrimination pertaining to drug arrests in the LPD, and intend to continue to work on similar issues in my career as a fashion journalist. My primary issues of concern are women's rights, animal rights, minority rights and LGBT rights, which are a great fit with a women's fashion magazine.
