Recent Graduates

August 2007 Graduates

Sheniqua Tobe received a Bachelors degree in Social Work. Her proposed research area was with the program evaluations of Social Work field placements. Her Faculty Mentors were Assistant Professor of Social Work, Dr. Laura Lowe, and Assistant Professor of Social Work, Dr. Helen Morrow.

Cynthia Caudillo received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. Her research is entitled "Effects of HMX and RDX on Prairie Voles."  Her Faculty Mentor was Assistant Professor, Dr. Phil Smith, The Institute of Environmental and Human Health.

Bryan Wilson received a Bachelors degree in Economics. His research topic is, "Still Struggling to Understand the Stock Market:  What Happened After 2000?". His Faculty Mentor was Dr. Peter Summers, Assistant Professor of Economics and Geography.

December 2007 Graduates

Cody Cook received a Bachelor of Arts in History. His research is entitled "The 5th Texas Regiment 1864-1865."  His Faculty Mentor was Dr. Alwyn Barr, Professor of History.

Claudia Ellis received a Bachelors degree in Management. Her research topic was in Health Organization management, entitled, "Crises in a Federally Qualified Health Center:  A Stakeholder Analysis". Her Faculty Mentor was Dr. Tim Nix, Visiting Assistant Professor in Business Administration, specializing in Health Organization Management.

May 2008 Graduates

Vanessa Chia received a Bachelors degree in Sociology. Her research was entitled "Changing roles of minority women."  Her Faculty Mentor was Dr. Charlotte Dunham, Chair of the Women‘s Studies Program and Associate Professor of Sociology.

Adrian Escudero received a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. His proposed research topic was "Failure of the ACL under normal loading circumstances."  His Faculty Mentors were Dr. Edward E. Anderson, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Javad Hashemi, Professor of Mechanical Engineering.

Crhistian Noemi Guerrero received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Her research topic was the genetic screening for the mutations affecting ERF3 expression in Arabidopsis thaliana.  Her Faculty Mentor was Dr. Huazhong Shi, Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

Matt Hock received a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Education and Communication. His research area was, "Utilization of Sorghum Producers in a Participatory Capacity to Determine Preferred Information Sources and Delivery". His Faculty Mentor was Associate Professor Dr. Cindy Akers, Agricultural Education and Communication Department.

Victoria Medina received a Bachelors degree in Social Work.  Her Faculty Mentor was Dr. Laura Lowe, Assistant Professor in Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work.  Her area of research was "A serice learning experience with hospice: An assessment of student impact."

Didiana Rojas received a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering. Her proposed research topic was "The reconstruction of the articulur cartilage through live wire segmentation."  Her Faculty Mentor was Dr. Javad Hashemi, Professor of Mechanical Engineering.

Cassidy Sooter received a Bachelors degree in Agronomy.  Her Faculty Mentor was Dr. Wayne Hudnall, B.L. Allen Endowed Professor of Pedology in the Department of Plant and Soil Science.  Her area of research was "Recycling of Zeolite Filters Through the Use of Electrodialysis."

August 2008 Graduate

Flor Leyva received a Bachelors degree in Apparel Design and Manufacturing. Her proposed research area was fashion technology and its effect on theory. Her Faculty Mentor was Dr. Su-Jeona Hwang Shin, Assistant Professor in Design. Her research was "The Y Generation's Purchase Decision of Denim Jeans Relating to Fit Issues."

December 2008 Graduate

Mayra Miranda received a Bachelors degree in Chemistry.  Her research project is, "Studying Reactivity of a Chemical System Using Computational Quantum Chemistry".  Her Faculty Mentor was Dr. Jorge A. Morales, Associate Professor of Theoretical Chemistry/Chemistry Physics.
