Advanced Design for Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities

U.S. healthcare organizations spend nearly $8.8 billion on energy each year. Every dollar a non-profit healthcare organization saves on energy has the equivalent impact on the operating margin as increasing revenues by $20 for hospitals or $10 for medical offices. Energy saving can be achieved through advanced design and increased energy efficiency by taking advantage of emerging technology solutions for both existing and new healthcare facilities, in areas such as advanced energy systems, renewable energy, optimized facility operation, building envelope design, fenestration, lighting systems, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, building automation and controls, outside air treatment, and service water heating, cooling, and saving.
