Computer-Assisted Diagnosis: Thermal Modeling of the Eye for Tumor Detection
The purpose is to develop a diagnostic tool for noninvasive, low-cost, and early detection of eye tumors (e.g., choroid melanoma) that otherwise might not be detected by imaging devices such as computer tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound imaging, etc. A mathematical-numerical model is developed to inversely localize the tumor based on the temperature distribution on the surface of the eye measured by high-resolution infrared thermography.
