High-Pressure Materials: Research Interests
Summary
We use symmetric and rotational diamond anvil cells coupling with Raman spectroscopy and synchrotron x-ray diffraction techniques to explore crystal structures, phase transitions, and mechanical properties of materials (lubricating materials, super-hard materials, energetic materials, minerals, etc.) at ultra-high pressure and shear conditions.
One of our main focuses is to explore the function of plastic shear in the phase transitions of materials and minerals in order to synthesize advanced materials and better understand behavior of minerals in the interior of earth, respectively.
