Lubbock, TX The Museum of Texas Tech University is pleased to announce that art historian Dr. Elena Ciletti will offer a presentation titled "Black to the Future: Foundations of African American Art" on Sunday, January 26, at 2 PM, in the Helen DeVitt Jones Auditorium of the Museum, Fourth Street and Indiana Avenue.
The lecture complements the exhibition Living With Art: Modern & Contemporary African American Art from the collection of Alitash Kebede on display from January 26 to March 30, 2003.
Exhibition Series speaker Elena Ciletti is an associate professor of art at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She holds a Ph.D. and a master's degree from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University. She is an art historian whose education has taken her from her native Pennsylvania to Venice, Rome, Vienna, Strobl, and Austria. She joined the art department faculty at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1974, and has led several study abroad programs to Italy.
