Kendra Wallace, Fossil Preparator and Research Aide

Preparator, Paleontology Division, MoTTU, 2014 - present

Departmental Intern, Exhibits Division, MoTTU, 2012 - 2013.

Master of Arts (CFAS Museum Science), 2012, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX.

Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), 2008, Texas Tech University, Lubbock, TX.

Kendra Wallace began her Museum Science graduate degree at Texas Tech University with an interest in the natural sciences, but it was not until fulfilling a practicum in the Paleontology Division of the Museum of Texas Tech University (MoTTU) that she discovered her true interests. Since graduating with her BA degree in Museum Science, Wallace has completed another practicum focused on fossil preparation, in addition to learning survey-style field collecting.

Wallace spent June–September 2011 working with MoTTU Anthropology Curator Dr. Eileen Johnson’s paleoanthropology field crew, focusing on Pleistocene paleontology. Later, Kendra interned as fossil preparator and field assistant at Mesalands Dinosaur Museum in Tucumcari, NM, under the supervision of curator Dr. Axel Hungerbuehler. Afterwards, she spent the next year and a half working for the MoTTU Exhibits Division on numerous museum gallery remodels and redesigns. Now, Kendra is delighted to be back at her principal interest, fossil preparation, in the MoTTU’s Paleontology Division, with Bill Mueller and Dr. Sankar Chatterjee.
