Celebration 2008
Dates October 8-10 & 14-16, 2008
Grades: 4 and up
Program time: 2 hours at 9:30 AM and 12:30 PM
Program Maximum: 120 students


Our most popular event! Celebration 2008 presents 12,000 years of traditional lifeways on the Southern High Plains, emphasizing the importance of understanding and preserving our cultural and environmental heritage. Presentations focus on traditional Native American and pioneer lifeways.

Just can't seem to get the the Landmark? Let us come to you! Artifact boxes are a museum for the classroom! A variety of topics make them perfect for the busy teacher looking for supplemental instructional materials. Trunks include artifacts, graphics, and interpretive information with suggested questions and activities.

History Underfoot: A Study in Archaeology at Lubbock Lake Landmark

Take a virtual trip with us! History Underfoot examines how archaeological investigation and excavation can be used to establish, reaffirm, and relate the story of our collective past. This curriculum and its electronic component is designed to take students beyond the excavation into the world of the archaeologist, posing questions and using scientific and historical research to answer them, building the histories of the many peoples and diverse cultures of the past and present.
