Gary Lewis

Gary Lewis is the Director of Orchestral Activities and Music Director of the Opera Theater Program in the Texas Tech University School of Music. He is also the Interim Director of Bands. He conducts the University Symphony Orchestra, teaches conducting programs and conducts the opera theater productions. He is currently serving as Associate Conductor of the Pine Mountain Music Festival where he conducts the Festival Symphony Orchestra and assists with the opera productions. He received the Master of Music degree in conducting from Texas Tech University and the Bachelor of Music Education degree from The University of Oklahoma. His post-graduate work includes participation in the Pierre Monteux School for Orchestral Conductors and the Tanglewood Conducting Seminar. He is very active as a guest conductor throughout the United States and Canada having conducted several university and professional ensembles as well as many All-State Orchestras, Bands, and other regional and local honor groups.
