Micah Meixner

Micah Meixner, mezzo-soprano, is an instructor of voice at Texas Tech University. Micah received both her D.M.A.
and M.M. in Vocal Performance from Texas Tech University. In addition she holds a B.A. in Music from Austin College
in Sherman, TX. Micah has taught collegiate voice as a Teaching Assistant at Texas Tech and as Adjunct Faculty at
Wayland B U. She has also worked at Texas Tech as a consultant in faculty and graduate student development.
A Lubbock native, Micah has performed as a soloist throughout Lubbock. She has been a member of the Lubbock Chorale
since 2001 and currently serves as president. Her opera roles include Rosina in Rossini's Barber of Seville, Augusta
in Douglas Moore's The Ballad of Baby Doe, Romeo in Bellini's I Capuletti e i Montecchi, Sesto in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito,
and the Principessa in Puccini's Suor Angelica. She has also performed solo literature from Mendelssohn's Elijah,
Karl Jenkins' The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, Handel's Messiah, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Brahm's Alto Rhapsody.
Micah's current research interests include faculty development, voice science, and vocal pedagogy. She has presented
research at regional, national, and international conferences.
