Minji Kim is a current D.M.A. student in choral conducting at Texas Tech University,
and a native of South Korea.
Prior to coming to the United States in 2014, she sang with several professional and amateur choirs, and also assisted Chun-ma Children's Chorus. As she was working on the Master's degree at The Ohio State University, she assisted the Women's Glee Club and Chorale. She directed the Chalice Choir at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus, and assisted Columbus International Children's Choir outside the campus.
Kim received a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Yeungnam University in South Korea, where her passion for choral music grew by involving herself in choral singing, auditing the choral conducting graduate program, and participating in other masterclasses. Afterward, she received a M.M. in choral conducting from The Ohio State University in 2016. Currently, Kim works at Texas Tech as a graduate conductor in the University Choir and the University Singers.
