Ryan Person is a graduate conductor and a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting Candidate at Texas Tech University. A native Iowan, he has thirteen years of experience as a choral conductor and educator.
At Texas Tech, Person has served as Graduate Associate Conductor of the Texas Tech University Choir, Matador Singers, Women's Chorale, and University Singers. He has also taught and assisted with various courses in choral music education and conducting. Prior to moving to Texas, Person successfully led the choral music program at West High School in Iowa City, Iowa. His ensembles were featured at notable choral festivals and conferences around the Midwest, including the 2014 North Central ACDA Conference. An active member of professional choral organizations, he has served in various leadership roles during his career and has enjoyed serving as guest director, clinician, and adjudicator at numerous choral festivals and conferences.
Person achieved ABD status from Texas Tech and will complete the D.M.A. in Choral Conducting degree in May 2018. He received a M.M. in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University and an undergraduate music degree from Luther College.
