Non-School Group Visits
Group Visits to the NRHC
Each year hundreds of groups from all over the world come to stroll through the history of ranching in North America at the National Ranching Heritage Center. Our facility features 49 authentic, furnished ranch buildings and structures that have been relocated from throughout the Southwest. These historic structures have been chronologically arranged to exhibit the evolution of ranch life from the late 1700s through the mid-1900s. A mile-and-a-half of paved pathways provides wheelchair access to these structures. Posted signs give a history of the historic structures in both English and Spanish.
The NRHC can accommodate groups of different sizes. Most tours of the museum and historic park are self-guided and typically take from 60 to 90 minutes depending on the age and interest of the group. Groups of more than 20 should make a reservation for their visit with the NRHC two weeks in advance. Smaller groups do not need a reservation. There is no admission fee.
Tour guide availability is limited and requesting a guide does not guarantee one will be available. Printed maps and our smartphone app are available free of charge to enhance your tour. Our historical park opens at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday. It closes daily at 4 p.m. During periods of poor weather conditions, the park may be closed.
