Emily Richardson

Biography

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. I received a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio. During my years as an undergraduate I worked as an intern for TPWD, a Peer Mentor for the Environmental Science Department, and as a Tutor for the Athletics Department. Upon graduation, I joined AmeriCorps and moved to upstate New York for 5 months. There, I was a member of a trail maintenance crew. We partnered with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to improve trails and build structures throughout the Adirondack Mountains. My current research interests include aquatic toxicology and invasive species. I am hoping to combine these interests during my research on Golden Alga.
