Biography

I am from a sleepy little East Texas town called Big Sandy and attended McMurry University, an equally small liberal arts college in Abilene, Texas where I earned a degree in biology.  After graduation in May 2007, I worked for the United States Geological Survey's Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center on Piping Plovers and Least Terns on Lake Sakakawea, North Dakota.  I also worked as a GIS technician mapping habitat types for waterfowl nesting analysis.  I then came on board my current position at Texas Tech under Dr. Brad Dabbert in spring 2008.  Currently, I am investigating bobwhite habitat response to large scale, spring-season wildfire in the East Amarillo Complex and gathering data for various projects in conjunction with the Quail-Tech Alliance.
