Libb Wallace Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established in 1995 by Mr. Michael C. Hughes of Southwest Healthcare Network, Inc. in memory of Libb Wallace.

The Libb Wallace Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in 1995 by Mr. Michael C. Hughes of Southwest Healthcare Network, Inc. in Amarillo, Texas in memory of Libb Wallace. Several of Libb's friends were also contributors to the endowment fund.

Libb Wallace was a young man who was killed in an accident. Mr. Hughes and others wanted to establish a scholarship for wildlife management majors so that this exceptional young man, who impacted the lives and attitudes of many people, would be remembered. Libb was known to have a deep love for wildlife and other animals.

Libb's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Will Wallace of Refugio, Texas.

The earnings from the endowment provide funding for scholarships to junior and senior students in the Department of Natural Resources Management who are majoring in Wildlife Management. Other criteria for this scholarship include a financial need and a minimum grade point average of 3.0. The number and amount awarded annually varies.
