Severe Weather Awareness Day Promotes Weather Safety at the Science Spectrum in Lubbock

The TTU Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) co-hosted the 5th Annual Severe Weather Awareness Day on Saturday, February 26 at the Science Spectrum in Lubbock. Other partners were the National Weather Service and KCBD-TV News channel 11. Included in the activities were an on-site view of weather instrumentation from TTU's Severe Storm Research Team, as well as a mobile Doppler radar truck parked outside for a hands-on experience. The National Weather Service also provided a Storm Spotter training seminar, and there were ongoing live weather demonstrations with a tornado simulator.
