Texas Tech University will be well represented at the recent Wind Farm 2016 conference to be held in Dallas, TX,  on May 22-24.

This will be the 3rd conference where leading world wind energy experts will meet under the NSF-funded international network, "Windinspire" to discuss pressing issues in wind energy research. Texas Tech University is a co-organizer of this network along with Johns Hopkins University.

The TTU papers will cover the following:

  • Low level jet impact on wind turbines, based on measurements from NWI's 200 m met-tower at the 67-acre field site at Reese Technological Center
  • Wake steering laser-based PIV measurements made in our wind tunnel at Reese Technological Center. For more information concerning this project, please see the pdf here.
  • Scaling of wake measurements made with our research partners at Princeton University in their unique high pressure facility. (Get a tour of Princeton University's testing lab.)
